You’re probably worried about money, about your children, and about what life looks like on the other side. That’s completely normal and you don’t have to work it out on your own.

Our specialist divorce solicitors have guided families across Manchester and Cheshire through divorce, and we’ll help you move forward with clarity, fairness and dignity. We listen first, explain everything in plain English, and keep you in control of the decisions that matter.

We were also one of the first firms in the country to publish our fees online, so you’ll always know where you stand – no hidden extras, no surprises.

How divorce works and how long it takes

By law, a no-fault divorce takes a minimum of six months from start to finish. Where finances or children are involved it often takes longer, and that’s completely normal — we’ll give you a realistic picture for your situation from day one.

  • Your first conversation – we listen, explain your options, and agree a plan.
  • The divorce application – made online, jointly or on your own. A 20-week reflection period follows.
  • Conditional order – the court confirms you’re entitled to divorce.
  • Sorting your finances – running alongside the divorce, we help you reach a fair settlement and secure a financial consent order. This is usually the part that affects the overall timeline most.
  • Final order – at least six weeks after the conditional order, your divorce is finalised.

Not sure where to start?

Most people who contact us have never spoken to a solicitor before. Starting is simpler than you think:

  1. 1

Get in touch — call us or request a callback, and tell us as much or as little as you’re ready to.

  2. 2

Talk it through — we’ll arrange a consultation to understand your situation and explain your options clearly.

  3. 3

Decide your next step — no pressure. You’ll leave knowing exactly where you stand and what we’d recommend.

You can do all of this from home, by phone or video, if that’s easier for you.

No-fault divorce: what to expect

A no-fault divorce usually doesn’t require either of you to attend court, and most of the process is handled online. We know how emotional divorce is, whatever the circumstances so we’re here to support you, including referrals to professional counsellors if that would help. Your health and wellbeing always come first.

As your divorce solicitors, we’ll explain the terminology, talk you through each stage, and answer your questions along the way. You can deal with us in person at our Manchester or Cheshire offices, or entirely online. Many clients now complete their divorce with us remotely from start to finish.

Pricing transparency

We publish our fees online, one of the first UK firms to do so. You’ll always know where you stand.

Employee-owned

Everyone you deal with has a personal stake in your outcome — not in pleasing shareholders.

The people who’ll look after you

You’ll work with one named divorce solicitor from start to finish. Someone who knows your story, not a revolving door of staff. You’ll have their direct mobile number too, so when you need to talk, you reach the person handling your case. Meet the team who’ll be by your side.

FAQs about divorce

A no-fault divorce takes a minimum of six months by law. If you’re also sorting finances or arrangements for children, the overall process often takes around a year or more. We’ll give you a realistic timeline for your situation.

In most no-fault divorces, no. The process is handled online and neither of you usually needs to attend a hearing.

Yes. Since April 2022, no-fault divorce means you simply confirm the marriage has broken down irretrievably, there’s no need to prove adultery or unreasonable behaviour.

If you’re in agreement, our amicable, one-lawyer divorce service can guide you both through together.

It’s strongly advised. A financial consent order makes your settlement legally binding and protects you both from future claims.

We publish our fees online so you can see exactly what’s involved before you commit. Take a look at our pricing page.

Yes. You can complete the whole process with us online, by phone or video, or come into our Manchester or Cheshire offices if you’d prefer.
